If there was, then you probably should have paid, and like JB King replied, they can claim tresspassing or some such. If there was a clear statement that it was paid parking, and there was a way to pay, with or without an attendant, you are obligated to pay, if you choose to park there.
http://www.dearvesta.com/questions/32/is-it-possible-to-maintain-a-new-relationship-with-someone-who-is-going-off-to-ba/34#34 Answer by thursdaysgeek for Is it possible to maintain a new relationship with someone who is going off to Basic Training? thursdaysgeek 2009-12-29T05:03:06Z 2009-12-29T05:03:06Z
I know it's old fashioned, but try sending her letters. Just tell about your day, what is going on in your life, and send at least one or two a week, perhaps nearly one a day. It won't be that expensive, and somehow, that paper is a more permanent way of communicating than talking or electronic methods. Call her too, if she can take the calls.

This can be good -- it can be a way to develop a deep friendship without the physical aspect blowing away your perspective. A relationship won't last without that friendship, anyway.
http://www.dearvesta.com/questions/29/want-to-help-myself-but-not-sure-which-way-to-turn/30#30 Answer by thursdaysgeek for Want to help myself, but not sure which way to turn! thursdaysgeek 2009-12-08T03:23:49Z 2009-12-08T03:23:49Z
You say there is a handicapped adult at home. Do you need to stay home to be with him or her, or can you leave him for the day?

It can be a challange, but a way to deal with the car situation is if you can find a job in a similar location and time period as your spouse, and then carpool. I've been carpooling for over 2 years, and we're also away from any bus lines. For that matter, relatives and friends are not the only options for carpooling, if you get to know your neighbors. It used to be that neighbors relied on each other far more than we do now, and many neighbors would be glad to help, if it's not too inconvenient.

Another option is if you have any artistic ability at all -- you can make crafty things, and then sell them at bazaars, farmer's markets, or such-like. That does take a bit of initial investement, and booths also cost some money, so research that first to make sure you could make a profit. But those often run on weekends, when perhaps you could use the car. Or, is there something you can do for neighbors for pay? Cleaning houses is how I paid my way through college, and if yardwork or landscaping is something you like to do, you're still young enough for any of those.

If all else fails, offer to volunteer somewhere, if they provide transportation. That won't help with the money situation (unless it works into a job), but it should help with the self-worth. You can provide a benefit and helping others always helps us too.
http://www.dearvesta.com/questions/21/how-can-we-deal-with-troublesome-neighbors/27#27 Answer by thursdaysgeek for How can we deal with troublesome neighbors? thursdaysgeek 2009-11-13T04:16:50Z 2009-11-13T04:16:50Z
It isn't fair, and if they are truly nasty people, talking to them won't help. But if you lower yourself to their level, fight fire with fire, it will be worse. If you are renting, perhaps you could talk to the management, and asked to be moved to a different apartment. Tell them why, but in a non-confrontive, factual way. If they bother enough people, eventually the management MIGHT deal with them. But, if you can move, at least they won't be annoying you quite as much.
http://www.dearvesta.com/questions/17/my-friend-is-being-cheated-on-should-i-tell-her/18#18 Answer by thursdaysgeek for My friend is being cheated on, should I tell her? thursdaysgeek 2009-10-22T02:28:51Z 2009-10-22T02:28:51Z
Read Dear Abby. The sugar is optional if you're eating something sweet with it.
