However, it's important to know that they don't remove plaque from teeth. Plaque is sticky and adheres to the sides of the teeth themselves, so only mechanical removal from floss or a toothbrush removes that. Don't let an ad tell you otherwise! To floss most effectively, put the floss between the tooth until it reaches the gum, wrap it AROUND one of the teeth, and do a "shoe-shine" motion all the way up the tooth. Put it back in the same place and do the other tooth. Voila!</p>
