There are a lot of charities out there, for an ever increasing number of special causes. I'm considering donating some time/money to a specific charity, but how do I know if that charity is reputable and not just some guy who threw up a web page?

Assuming you mean within Canada or the US, there are various registrations required to be a charity so that donations can receive tax receipts to use when deducting for income tax purposes. There are also sites like CharityNavigator.org that can rate various charities that can be useful. |
